In the Deben Division of the Suffolk Coastal Petanque League, league leaders Aldeburgh Boules Club travelled to the newly built Bealings piste to take on The Exiles, who have relocated from their original home base during the course of last week.
Whilst a win for Aldeburgh would have started to open up a bit of a gap at the top of the table, The Exiles themselves went into the match unbeaten as well (virtue of two previous 2-2 draws). In fact it was The Exiles who made the better start and were 2-0 up after the first set of doubles games. The visitors re-organised their second sets of pairings but despite winning one of them, they went down heavily in the last one to see The Exiles record a 3-1 win and move to within a point of Aldeburgh.
