Yes, there will be at least 6 divisions in the 2011 season, with todays arrival of the ''Early Bird'' Registration Fees from;
Kings Head Laxfield A
Kings Head Laxfield B
Kings Head Laxfield Lovelies (all-ladies team)
Bramford Cock'N'Boules
We are now at the same registration level as we had for the 2010 season and still have 5 existing teams to possibly re-register, along with 2 or 3 more new teams (that I know of!!), that could potentially register.

Something Old, Something New
One of the 'Original Nine' founding members of the Coastal League, Mill Inn Aldeburgh, are pleased to announce that they are back in for the 2011 season.
Also due to a highly successful 'Boules In The Park' event in July and the on-going promotional work, enough players have been found (press-ganged!!) into forming the Christchurch Park Boules Club and entering two teams for the new season.
Latest 2011 Team Membership Count: 32 (all paid up in advance)

Welcome to the ''Hares''
After a recent successful demonstration event, held on the Millenium Green, we have now received the registration fee from a new team based in Huntingfield. (For the less geographically-minded amongst you, Huntingfield is basically to the left of Halesworth and creates a local triangle with Laxfield and Cratfield).
Using their Parish Councils' piste behind the village hall, the Huntingfield Hares plan to utilise the Huntingfield Arms, as their post-match watering hole.
The League would like to extend a warm welcome to Huntingfield.

New Divisional names for 2011 season
As we are expecting our numbers for the 2011 season to be around 40 to 48 teams, this will have the potential of seeing up to 8 Divisional groups.
Therefore as we've run out of rivers, we are now working through famous Suffolk persons and announce that the two new groups will be named Wolsey Division and Constable Division respectively.
Due to historical locations, one of the new divisions with 'South of Ipswich' teams will be the Constable, and the new division including mainly Ipswich based teams would effectively be the Wolsey Division, all subject to final group placements in early February 2011.

''International Tournament'' Sunday 10th July 2011
As an league, we have been approached by a Belgian/French organisation who are planning to be in Ipswich during the weekend of 8th till 10th July 2011 and would like to incorporate into their itinerary a petanque tournament against local players.
We have started initial talks with them regarding the format of the competition and they are happy for us to put up some local opposition against their members, making it an ''international event''. The event itself would be held somewhere around the Ipswich Waterfront.
As we are sure many of you would like to play in this event, we are going to make it an ''invite only'' tournament and therefore give our league ''first-option'' on places. However historically there are a few non-Suffolk Coastal League people that we would also like to invite.
To pre-warn everybody, as there will be costs associated with organising and hosting this event, there will be a 'contribution fee' to be paid by our teams and we would ask you to budget for approximately £15 to £20 per team.
The format has yet to be decided but we are suggesting to our European visitors that doubles would suit us better as thats what we play currently in our Coastal League.
We will need to put together a list of interested persons, so if you would like to be included on the ''mailing list'' for this event, please e-mail the League Co-Ordinator. (Requesting to be on the mailing list does not constitute an invite at this stage).
